Human Resources Generalist Job at Highline Warren
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is directly responsible for the recruiting and selection process for manufacturing positions at our Leominster plant. The HR Generalist will be an onsite partner to assist management and employees with HR related issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:
- Interact daily with management and associates to ensure an open line of communication is maintained in order to identify and address any issues, needs, and/or concerns as they arise
- Investigate, document and resolve associate relations issues
- Manage associate onboarding process
- Involvement in operational functions within the facility/region as appropriate
- Respond to unemployment claims and reports worker's compensation claims, benefits, etc.
- Assist associates with STD/FMLA and respond to eligibility inquiries
- Works as a liaison between candidates, Hiring Manager and Regional HR Manager throughout the full cycle recruiting process.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates, and conducts background checks, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates
- Manage associate onboarding process
- Assist Regional HR Manager with additional administrative duties
- Works closely with and reporting to the Regional HR Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 + years of experience in HR generalist functions (recruiting, employment, employee relations, Affirmative Action, training, etc.).
- Sourcing and full-cycle recruitment for non-exempt positions.
- Sourcing, assessing, interviewing, and influencing talent for all levels of positions, with a primary focus on brand recruiting.
- Knowledge of HR practices and principles.
- Good understanding of federal and state employment law.
- Previous experience and proven ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and personal issues.
- Ability to handle high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with employees at all levels and the general public.
- Understanding of and execution of proven recruiting practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Background in Manufacturing a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
