    Job Description

    POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

    REPORTS TO: Director for Human Resources

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    To support the implementation of a progressive Human Resource Department. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including: hiring, onboarding, data, records, leaves, contracts and compliance management.

    Essential Functions:

    • Serve as the point person for absences and leave requests.

      • Distribute and monitor medical leave paperwork for all employee groups.
      • Update the Personnel report for these particular leaves and follow up to ensure proper documentation in Frontline and Skyward.
      • Composes letters, reports and personnel-related documents after Board Meetings.
    • Develops and maintains Skyward to ensure appropriate documentation for all new employees. I.E. Personnel information, degrees, hire dates, and salary advancements.
    • Maintains Frontline Recruiting and Hiring for all job postings. Post for all jobs, closes jobs, and monitors posting for various positions.
    • Maintains records for job vacancies and fills for positions.
    • Validates EIS reporting for the State.
    • Responsible for all aspects of Frontline Central.
    • Monitors absences of employees through Frontline Absence Management.
    • Responsible for contacting all new hires for the onboarding process, sending them paperwork, consistent follow up with missing items and ensuring all fingerprinting and background checks are completed prior to Board Recommendations. Prepare and complete Board of Education personnel reports.
    • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of licensed and classified personnel files including: credentials, license renewal, transfers, leave of absences, FMLA, teaching licenses and any disciplinary documentation.
    • Work in collaboration with the Directors for HR and Technology on the Reduction in Force list and communication for checking Skyward and Evaluwise.
    • Work in collaboration with Technology to ensure all new staff have access to all platforms: Skyward, Frontline, GCN, Evaluwise etc.
    • Work in collaboration with the Superintendent Secretary on the seniority lists for all union employees.
    • Acts as a liaison between Kelly services and the district to help recruit and maintain a healthy substitute pool.
    • Creates template letters for all areas of hiring, terminations and change of position.
    • Responsible for all areas of Workman’s Compensation.
    • Responsible for all unemployment hearings and documentation under the direction of the Director for HR.
    • Responsible for benefits of new employees and the open enrollment period for all employees.
    • Knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures and employment/labor laws.
    • Strong knowledge of technology and HR related applications and data management systems.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

    Education, Credentials and/ or Experience:

    • Associates degree In Human resources or related field, preferred
    • Experience in human resources or school office settings.
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
    • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
    • 5+ years of human resource experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands:

    • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
