Job Summary:
The Human Resource Representative will assist the Energy Harbor Human Resource Shared Service Team with complex and specialized administrative tasks including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and generating reports. Acts as a utility player for a variety of employee related activities within the Human Resource team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains confidential employee records within human resource management system (HRMS), ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, employment verifications, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
- Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings. Participates in a variety of talent acquisition activities.
- Reviews applications for entry-level and non-exempt positions; conducts and/or schedules preliminary candidate interviews and travel.
- Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, unemployment and extended leaves of absence.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Plans and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Participates on project teams as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate, be agile and work in a team-based environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel or related software. Knowledge of ADP HRMS is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree and a minimum of two years of dedicated HR Representative or HR Generalist experience; or
- Bachelor's Degree (minor or major in Human Resources preferred) and successful completion of a HR internship or HR Co-op experience; or
- Three years of dedicated office experience working in a corporate Human Resources function as a HR Representative or HR Generalist highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
