Summary: This position provides HR support to the Sales & Marketing leaders to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. Reviews corrective action and termination requests, provides coaching, investigates complaints and partners with the benefit’s team to process FMLA paperwork or other employee insurance concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide consultation, guidance, and coaching to managers in areas such as proper handling of employee relations matter and conflict resolution, delivering and documenting performance feedback and understanding of employment policies and practices.
  • Resolves moderately complex employee relations issues conferring with manager on complex and highly sensitive issues and documents conversations.
  • Summarizes meetings with employees who have concerns via email within 24 hours of receiving the complaint and updates complaint log.
  • Contacts Associate HR Director immediately via phone regarding escalated issues and any workplace environment/violence complaints.
  • Send weekly (bi-weekly) communication to sales team reminding them of various employee resources (state posters, EAP, wellness, etc.).
  • Participates in Sales team meetings via Zoom as requested.
  • Handles leave of absence discussions, work accommodations, workers compensation and benefit questions.
  • Responds to unemployment claims for the sales division timely and ensures that employment verifications are completed timely.
  • Participates on various corporate committees such as wellness or employee activity and helps promote upcoming events.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations in all aspects of employment (hiring, firing, FMLA, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, EPA, EEOC, FCRA, etc.)
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings as needed.
  • Assists the department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees
  • This position involves regular access to specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth

Education and/or Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a HR Degree/Certificate and/or 3 years’ experience in a Human Resource Generalist position. Working with Sales or a high volume department is preferred. Certificate in HR preferred.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.


Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Other Skills: Attention to detail, well-organized with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work.


Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
