The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join our team as HR Assistants for the 2023 National Western Stock Show!

Who We Are

Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s.

What We Do

The Human Relations Department provides year-round support to the 150+ employees and managers that work at the National Western Stock Show. During the months of December and January, our staff primarily focuses on the recruiting and onboarding of 450+ seasonal employees to help support the heightened needs of our teams during our busiest time of year.

As an HR Assistant, you will interact with candidates and employees alike to provide a number of services relating to employment with National Western. Regular tasks will include screening and interviewing candidates, completing and processing new hire paperwork for seasonal employees, responding to candidate and employee inquiries via phone, email, and in-person communications, and auditing finalized records.

What You Need

The ideal candidate will have a background in administrative and human resources work. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft programs and feel comfortable navigating a variety of internal and external databases. Comfort with phone, email, and in-person interactions is a must. Attention to detail and exceptional customer service skills are required.

To thrive in this position, candidates must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions and around animals.

As our schedule is based on the needs of the Human Relations Department leading up to and going through Stock Show, scheduling flexibility is a must. This position may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during Stock Show.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a seasonal position that will run through the end of the 2023 National Western Stock Show in January 2023.

Pay Rate

$17.30-$18.00/hour
