Job Summary:

The role of the Housekeeping/Laundry Associate is the most important in providing a guest with a positive experience at this particular location and for the specific brand as a whole. The performance of housekeeping is evaluated each time a guest checks into a room and each time a guest turns back their bedding or grabs a towel. The Housekeeping/Laundry Associate is responsible for the cleanliness of all areas of the property including both the interior and the exterior of the building. The Housekeeping/Laundry Associate must be organized and efficient, as well as have a clear understanding of the specific brand Quality Assurance Evaluation process. Time management and machine operation is extremely important in this position; cleaning multiple guest rooms and keeping the laundry flowing in a productive manner. As part of WDA Management Company, this person promotes the vision of the owner “…to be the best in the market place.”

The Housekeeping/Laundry Associate’s schedule will be based on high occupancy periods. The individual in this position is expected to carry out daily cleaning of all guest rooms and public areas of the property. The Housekeeping/Laundry Associate is classified as a part time hourly employee and may work up to 80 hours in a two week pay period, typically 5 to 6 days a week with alternating weekends as needed.

  • Assist all guests with a smile in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile, and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction, while portraying a “Can-Do” attitude.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the services and facilities of the property as to effectively assist guests.
  • Demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the local area such as; area attractions, business hours of local establishments, accurate directions, etc. as to effectively assist guests.
  • Promote and Enroll guests into specific brand loyalty programs such as Easy Rewards and Wyndham Rewards.
  • Professionally answer and transfer phone calls, utilizing the “3 ring rule”.
  • Monitor halls and public areas for noise disruptions and security issues, and ensure proper locking of all entries and doors as required. This may include policing unruly and/or uncooperative guest and could require the assistance of local law enforcement.
  • Assist with set up and take down the guest breakfast at appropriate times corresponding with wake up calls and guest needs, in compliance with the specific brand standards as well as county and state health regulations, while ensuring the quality of the items served, the service provided, and the breakfast environment.

Section B, Quality Assurance:

  • Clean and stock guest rooms, guest bathrooms, public areas, pub or bar, and meeting rooms in compliance with Quality Assurance specific brand standards including completing of weekly cleaning tasks and deep cleaning schedules.
  • Assist with maintaining pool records, cleanliness of the pool area and mechanical room, as well as the chemical balance in both the spa and the pool in accordance with specific brand standards, State Law, and the County Health Department.
  • Assist with required snow and ice removal of the parking lot and all walkways as needed. (The parking lot is plowed following 1” of snow cover.)
  • Assist with maintaining the general cleanliness, daily (upon your arrival and departure of the property) of the grounds including all parking lots.
  • Complete washing, drying, and folding of all linens in a neat and efficient manner; understand the operations of the washer, dryer and dispensers; stock shelves and housekeeping carts, and monitor the condition and replacement of items in conjunction with the Management Team.

Section C, Communication and Administration:

  • Assist in monitoring and responding to all guest surveys, online reviews, general guest correspondence, brand and internal emails in conjunction with the Management Team within WDA Management Company policies and specific brand requirements.
  • Utilize daily, the WDA Management Company Daily Checklists, Weekly Tasks Sheets and Deep Cleaning Schedules to complete all required daily, weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
  • Monitor, maintain, and secure guest room keys, property keys and key cards.
  • Adhere to company and brand personal appearance/uniform policy and standards.
  • Assist with compliance to ALL local and state personal safety procedures including the AWAIR (A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction) Plan.
  • Assist with compliance to ALL local and state food safety and health codes regarding cleanliness and food handling in the breakfast/kitchen area to ensure the safety and quality of food items served.
  • Assist with compliance to ALL local and state regulations regarding the operations and employee training of the service of alcoholic beverages at property specific pubs, bars, or other establishments.
  • Inform the Management Team promptly of all problems of unusual matters or significance so that timely corrective action can be taken to include notifying the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Owner (in that order) if any emergency personnel or law enforcement has been called to the property.
  • Perform all other tasks and functions as determined by the Management Team.

Section D, Requirements and Self-Development:

  • Must exhibit excellent communication skills, verbal, written, electronic and telephone with the Guests, Vendors, Community Members, Employees and the Management Team.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate the 24hr/7 day-a-week schedule and be available for on-call assistance to the property as needed.
