HOST/HOSTESS Job at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
Position Summary:
The Host/ Hostess position is responsible for providing a positive patient experience with regard to meal service- including Room Service at Johns Hopkins Bayview.
Duties involve direct patient interaction and include the ordering, delivery, and removal of meal trays, using a hospital-issued tablet and mobile phone, following safety and sanitation requirements such as wearing proper PPE, using two patient identifiers when delivering meals, and verification of diet orders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work requires a high school level of educational development and one year of previous experience, preferably in food service and possessing knowledge related to different diet types. Computer skills preferred (to perform menu selections.)
- No certification, registration or licensure required.
- Work requires the skills to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters.
- Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions. Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information. Work requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy.

Part-time (20 hours per week)
