JOB FUNCTION

Responsible to provide homemaking tasks in the client’s home to maintain the personal comfort and well-being of that client.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes Customer Care Standards of Service, Compassion, Trust, and Respect.
  • Performs homemaker duties as assigned to include, but not limited to: cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
  • Performs household services essential to the health and well-being of clients in the home setting.
  • Observes and reports any changes in patient’s environmental condition.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Documents data according to procedure and reports changes.
    • Accurate start/stop times, incident reports and documentation delegated by RN and Good Shepherd Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides client escort assistance to and from meals/events.
  • Assists with laundry tasks and properly returning clothing to clients.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team including residents and their families.
  • Serves to protect vulnerable adults from abuse & neglect and reports concerns immediately.
  • Provides on-boarding assistance to new staff to ensure each new team member understands they a welcomed to care setting and understand their job functions.
  • Relay a positive attitude with client, families, visitors and co-workers at all times including calm approach and tone of voice, smiling, and eye contact.
  • Attends and completes all educational requirements as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively communicate both in written and verbal form in English.
  • Be able to work in a variety of client’s home settings with possible exposure to pets and various cleaning chemicals.
  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, punctual, and energetic.
