Safer Alternatives through Networking and Education (SANE) is a non-profit harm reduction agency located in Sacramento, CA. Our services include a needs-based Syringe Exchange Program, distribution of safer sex supplies, HIV & HCV testing,education and referral, overdose prevention education, outreach to people experiencing homelessness and a low barrier Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. SANE employs in all its efforts the principles of humanism, harm reduction, and respect for human rights and dignity.

The Homeless Services Manager will be overseeing SANE’s projects for people experiencing homelessness within the framework of Harm Reduction. Duties include: developing workplans and spend plans, adherence to deliverables, ensuring data collection and submitting reports, attending meetings (in-person and virtual); managing staff assigned to projects through coordination of schedules, staff debriefing, crisis management, mapping encampments, training, and fill-in to ensure work completion. Some portion of hours will be spent in the field doing outreach. This position will work in collaboration with other departments within SANE, and develop and maintain communication with outside organizations and agencies to maintain and build partnerships.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

The desired candidate will meet at least two of the following qualifications:

• Documented work experience in the field of harm reduction and/or homeless services
• AA or Bachelor’s degree which included the study of human services, social work, psychology, public health or related field
• Lived experience with substance use disorders, incarceration, homelessness, and/or sex work.
• Experience in project management and/or a leadership position responsible for project execution

Additional Qualifications:

• Efficient in word processing (Word, Excel/Docs and Sheets), and comfortable with computer systems and related technologies
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team using critical thinking and problem solving
• Basic knowledge of Harm Reduction principles
• Effective communication skills including interpersonal skills needed to collaborate with fellow staff, clients, and outside agencies
• Spanish-speaking a plus
• Organizational skills to establish priorities and to maintain work effectiveness
• Ability to remain flexible with responsibilities
• Access to a reliable mode of transportation

Pay: $47,760.33 - $52,000.00 per year
