Position Summary:

Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Health Information Services Department to ensure appropriate hospital standards. Trains employees in the daily medical record functions of the department.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise Health Information Services Staff
• Educate staff on E H R
• Reviews and monitors work schedules, hours and daily assignments
• Management of productivity and monitoring quality.
• Works directly with subordinates, physicians and other employees of the hospital.
• Monitors physician delinquency
• Establish and implement any policies and procedures
• Evaluate performance and recommend merit increases and disciplinary actions
• Participates in performance improvement activities

Accountability:

• Reports to the HIM Director
• Supervises HIM staff.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in Health Information functions.
• Professional, verbal communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to interact with patients, families, physicians and all levels of staffing in an effective manner
