Nature of Work

Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR)/ Bureau for Public Health (BPH)/ Office of EMS and State Trauma/ Kanawha Co. -This position is a supervisory/managerial position in which 5 employees are supervised. This position ensures the WVOEMS Division of Education, Certification and Testing functions are appropriate and meets the statutory obligations as outlined in WV Code Chapter 16, Article 4C and Legislative Rule 64 CSR 48. This position will provide programmatic guidance, ensure the provisions of adequate emergency medical services within this state, and closely monitoring education programs to ensure professional competence, skills and the education of emergency medical services personnel. This position is also responsible for complex statewide administrative support, programmatic guidance, complex statewide procedural assignments, and responds to inquiries requesting knowledge regarding procedure policy and guidelines. The work is typically complex, varied and requires considerable interaction with local, state and federal agencies and the public. This position has the ability to work remotely and some travel may be required. Preform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the area of assignment.

Substitution: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the Master's degree.

Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a program administration capacity.
Substitution: Post-graduate training in the area of assignment may substitute through an established formula for the non-supervisory experience.
