Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Construction Manager of Water Treatment that will work out of our Canonsburg, PA office. The Construction Manager of Water Treatment will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have mastered hands-on engagement, supervisory leadership, and organizational skill. This candidate will have experience in water and wastewater management. Also must be able to travel domestic, and have experience in overseeing multiple project sites and managing teams in an industrial setting or similar environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years job related experience
- Experience in water/wastewater treatment
- Bachelor's Degree in in Construction Management (Preferred)
- Overnight travel will be required
Job Description:
- Ensures project development and compliance, design, permitting, budgeting and construction management. Guarantees all aspects of project site are in compliance with state and local requirements
- Ensures estimation of site works (Civil works, foundations, EMI installation works etc)
- Helps Sales and Business Development Groups in the Bidding process
- Prepares bid packages for site works
- Evaluates bid packages for site works and recommends sub-contractors
- Supervise personnel working on the construction project including project managers, field staff, and administrative personnel
- Provide leadership and guidance throughout the construction process.
- Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
- Works closely with Project managers to ensure milestones for each phase is being met.
- Conduct frequent site visits to track progress and evaluate safety of work site
- Leads and manages consultants working on projects or project sites.
- Manages large capital projects such as, Water Treatment Plant and Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrades and infrastructure replacement.
- Manages and ensures regulatory compliance of Water Treatment Plant and Waste Water Treatment Plant facilities in assigned region.
- Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Address and resolve construction or infrastructure related issues.
- Monitors contractors work progress, including site visits, to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Handle multiple projects requiring effective interaction and coordination with other project team members and internal company departments as well as external parties
- Communicates with consultants, engineers and contractors and negotiates the amount of additional expenses that may occur throughout the completion of a project (in consultation with Project Director/Project Manager/VP Projects).
- Reviews contractors invoices to compare and contrast actual cost against proposed expense to bring the project in, at or under budget.
- Prepares monthly reports, updating progress on all projects.
- Prepares financial analysis on upcoming projects and changes to ensure they are at or under budget..
- Manages consultants and construction managers working on assigned projects to ensure compliance with project goals.
- Monitors construction sites periodically to ensure overall compliance.
- Supervise scheduling, permitting, inspection
- Responsible for communicating and upholding safety culture and safety policies and procedures throughout the project
- Review and verifying accuracy, approving and submitting direct report(s) time recorded.
- Conducts team member performance reviews and recommends compensation adjustments.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to travel by car or plane with overnight stays as required: 50%. Includes some day trips and overnight trips
