Job Summary
The Wellness Instructor is responsible for performing a wide range of health promotion services, exercise courses/programs such as but not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, chair based etc., development and implementation of health and wellness activities and programs. Job Description

Proficient in fitness multiple areas including but not limited to:
Behavioral and Phycology knowledge is a plus!
Bilingual - English and Spanish Required
Shift: Hours vary depending on business needs between 8AM to 12PM Monday through Saturday (alternating Saturdays) There is not a set schedule.
Works near the following areas:
Memorial Hermann's vaccine policies require all new hires and employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu, unless they qualify for a medical or religious exemption. New hires must be fully vaccinated or be approved for an exemption prior to the first day of employment. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in a rescinded offer of employment.
Salary range: $25 to $31 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Wellness; Exercise Physiology; Nutrition; or health related field or equivalent training and experience.
Licenses/Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required Health & fitness certifications preferred.

- Prior experience in wellness programs, teaching diverse populations group exercise programs, developing wellness or fitness programs.
- Understanding and knowledge of individual fitness endurance, able to understand body mechanics.
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support.
- Excellent communication skills to work positively with different diverse populations, in groups and individually.
- Able to travel if required.

Principal Accountabilities
- Implements health promotion programs including screenings, health risk assessments, wellness & fitness education, classes, intervention programs, and other activities.
- Teaches group exercise classes such as Yoga, Zumba, fitness etc.
- Follows established guidelines for participant safety.
- Maintains a clean working environment.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance, where applicable.
- Monitors need for higher level maintenance and/or repair of facility and/or equipment.
- Assists with program development.
- Provides presentations on educational information and evaluations for groups on various wellness and fitness topics.
- Analysis and summarizes program evaluations to validate program effectiveness and to seek areas of program improvement.
- Represents hospital services to external & internal customers, creating appropriate referrals and cross-selling opportunities to meet the need of the customer.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
