This position is approximately 70% working with customer supplied artwork and making edits to existing files, 30% designing new artwork when necessary for customer needs and in-house marketing efforts. Design applications include printed collateral (business cards, flyers, booklets, envelopes, etc.), wide format printing (signage, decals, posters, vehicle lettering, etc.), and promotional products. This is a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
This position would handle prepress operations, preflighting all approved artwork, whether created in-house or customer supplied. Print ready files will need to include proper bleeds, crop marks, high resolution images, and proper color profiles. Exact specifications will vary depending on the method of printing and/or vendor.
Other responsibilities may include operating digital printers, troubleshooting color and or layout issues, cross training in other roles as needed to assist based on workflow needs and to cover for vacations.

Responsibilities
- Create and design various projects for print, large format, and digital collateral
- Setup data merges for variable printing and mailing projects
- Preflight files for production including setting up/imposing various types of print jobs for production requirements
- Manage multiple projects within design specifications and workflow demands
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule by coordinating with production and outside vendors
- Actively communicate with clients (in person, via email, and by phone) to understand and deliver design material to their full satisfaction
- Review customer-supplied files for quality issues and ensure artwork specifications are correct per internal job tickets
- Process 20 to 30 jobs a day between designing, proofing, and setting up for print
- Learn production equipment to help trouble shoot with color and layout issues
- Remain up to date on changing trends in the graphic design industry
Qualifications
- Print design and production background preferred
- Expert at using InDesign, Illustrator, PitStop Pro, Photoshop; proficient with MS Office
- Excellent project and time management skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to organize and constantly manage email correspondence in a professional manner
- Ability to remain organized while multi-tasking and adjusting to evolving priorities
- Proficiency to work in a very fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while paying very close attention to details
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas visually, orally, and in writing
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Able to interact and work well with others and be a team player
- Self-disciplined
- Knowledge of and experience with data merging in InDesign
- Ability to design for digital printing, offset press and large format
- Proficiency in MAC
- Two to four years related experience with print design experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
