Pro Shops and Clubhouse: The Pro Shops at our golf courses provide excellent customer service while performing a variety of assignments. You may be assigned to one area, but would be expected to fill in as needed in other areas. Assignments could include:
- Golf Carts and Range: staging, washing, and light maintenance of carts as well as picking balls off the driving range using a picker cart. Will be responsible for washing the range balls, picking up trash, and general cleanliness and upkeep of outside areas.
- Pro Shop: Provide customer service, cashiering, and merchandising using a point-of-sale system. Will be responsible for opening and closing drawers as well as some inventory. Responsible for organizing and cleaning the pro shop, as well as restrooms.
- Food and Beverage Service: Prepare and sell food and beverages to customers. Will be certified to properly handle and serve food and alcoholic beverages. Will include cashiering, inventory and ordering using a point-of-sale system. Ensures cleanliness to meet and exceed Health department standards.
- Starter and Course Monitor: Greet customers on the first tee, ensure the most efficient use of the tee time schedule, and communicate golf course conditions and expectations. Additionally, will monitor proper pace of play on course and solve guest problems and issues as needed.
- Pro Shop and Clubhouse assignments could include opening and closing the facility. This will require a flexible schedule at times.
Golf Course Maintenance: Our golf course have a variety of maintenance opportunities. Duties could include using small and large pieces of equipment such as weed eaters, blowers, mowers, bunker rakes, and hand tools. Watering greens is a primary duty, including hand-watering. Employees will be working outside, and will be required to work flexible schedules including weekends.
Golf Course Landscape and Gardening:Our golf courses also have opportunities for maintaining landscape areas. This could include planting, mulching, weed maintenance, pruning, propagation, and landscape design.
The Springfield-Greene County Park Board has three Golf Course locations in the Springfield-Greene County area:
- Bill and Payne Stewart
- Horton Smith
- Rivercut
Experience, Education, and Training
- This is an entry level position, no experience is required to be considered;
- Basic understanding of Golf Course operation.
Licensing/Certification
- If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
