GLOBAL APPLICATION ENGINEER
EAGLE OTTAWA PLANT- ROCHESTER HILLS, MI


As a member of the Global Engineering team, the Global Applications Engineer will support the development and implementation of leather finishing processes - most notably in the design feature processing and post finishing processes. The Global Applications Engineer will support the processes creating these design features will include at a minimum leather perforation, HF Welding debossing / embossing, CNC sewing, Laser marking, embroidery with others currently under development.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Direct “hands on” Product, Process, and Equipment Development for new unreleased designs of leather seating components
  • Develop and rollout of innovative programs for CNC processing equipment Globally
  • Opportunity to become company’s expert of design featured processes
  • Guide and development of plant personnel on proper technique and usage of processing equipment
  • Development and Implementation of industry leading vision inspection and process monitoring systems to ensure quality and productivity goals are achieved
  • Complete program integration from design concept to program launch
  • Ensure Global process standardization while focusing on continuous improvement activities

Your Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial or Automation Engineering
  • Minimum of 0-3 years’ work experience
  • Proven ability to be engaged and perform across the entire spectrum of a program/project
  • Preferred experience in leather processing with emphasis on Perforation, lamination, quilting

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience with CAD design preferably with tool/fixtures & floor plan development
  • Open creative/innovative mind set
  • Ability to work with all levels and functions of a manufacturing organization
  • Ability to travel Globally as required for research of technologies and program implementation
