Gender Justice & Healing Organizer Job at Native Movement
Native Movement seeks a highly motivated individual to advance the coordination and capacity of our gender justice and healing (GJH) team. The GJH Organizer will focus on developing and implementing creative strategies to engage and educate our audience both in-person and digitally. They will also have a strong enthusiasm for diverse forms of narrative and storytelling with attention to intersectionality, especially LGBTQ2S and Indigenous identities. The ideal candidate will have experience in most or all of the following areas: grassroots organizing/advocacy, community building and coalitions, decolonizing frameworks, and gender justice. Experience in collaborative work models is a must. This position has the potential for growth with the organization and would be a part of a supportive, passionate, and dynamic team.
Core Purpose: Organize Gender Justice and Healing events, creating liberating spaces for Indigenous LGBTQ2S peoples through narrative
strategies and applied values.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary lead for GJH events, in-person and virtual;
Development of communications narrative content creation to support program goals and campaign strategy;
Consistent reporting of GJH events;
Participate in weekly team meetings, and support Native Movement public events where help is needed (i.e. other campaign actions or partnered events.)

Additionally, Native Movement’s standard work week is four days – Monday thru Thursday – Fridays are paid “wellness” days. Possibility of flexible schedule and may need to occasionally be available for evening or weekend meetings. Native Movement is an at-will employer.
This position is full-time, in office. Preferably Anchorage, Alaska.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and relevant experience in grassroots community organizing, social justice, or other program coordinating;
Proven history of engaging with and positively impacting diverse communities;
Strong communication skills;
Ability to work extremely well as part of a team;
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to meet goals and deadlines while working independently;
Adept with social media and web-based communication tools (Google Drive, Zoom, Slack, Facebook, Instagram etc).
