What you’ll learn & achieve::
Lead projects in various areas of functional safety leveraging experience with functional and autonomy safety standards. Develop and review safety work products and safety processes for clients seeking compliance to standards in functional safety and related fields. Lead client interactions via technical program meetings. Develop functional safety requirements during the concept phase. Refine technical and hardware safety requirements during the technical phase. Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses such as FMEA and FMEDA through Medini Analyze. Develop templates and guidelines in functional safety. Travel to client locations to support design, development, integration, and testing related to ISO 26262 projects. Up to 20% domestic travel to client sites. 100% telecommuting allowed from anywhere in the U.S. *This position qualifies for UL LLC’s employee referral policy program.*
What makes you a great fit::
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, automotive engineering, computer engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in functional safety engineering.
OR
Master’s degree electrical engineering, electronics engineering, automotive engineering, computer engineering, or related field and one (1) year of experience in functional safety engineering.
Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) Certified Functional Safety Professional; 2) ADAS and Autonomy system safety; 3) ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 safety standards; 4) performing Safety Analyses, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA) and Failure Modes and Effects Diagnostics Analysis (FMEDA); 5) calculation of probabilistic metrics for electronic hardware safety standards compliance; and 6) Developing Functional Safety and Autonomy Safety Training Material.
