Food Service Team Leader Job at McHenry School District 15
- Follow District’s Standard Operating Procedures, Illinois Regulations and Federal regulations and reports any discrepancy to Food Service Lead or Director of Food Service.
- Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of best quality both in flavor and appearance before it is served.
- Reports inferior quality of food or faulty equipment to the Director of Food Service.
- Performs inventory on all food requisitions from the storeroom.
- Complies with Health Department, food service hygiene guidelines.
- Provides quality food production and service including timely and appropriate documentation.
- Cools, stores and rotates food following Food Code and SOP.
- Maintains a safe facility, including, but not limited to reporting of unsafe activities, equipment or work space.
- Records required information, including but not limited to, cooking and holding temperatures and daily production records.
- Calls/Emails food orders efficiently to the Director of Food Services for the purpose of ensuring proper meal allocation and distribution.
- Inventories food, condiments and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of times required for projected menu requirements.
- Maintains open communication with Director of Food Service or designee for the purpose of ensuring accurate meal counts and compliance with procedures.
- Responsible for assigning or reassigning positions for food service workers based on availability and skill set for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the team.
- Prepares a variety of documentation (e.g. temperature logs, production records, summary sheets, bank deposits, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining area, dishes, pots and pans, service carts, hoods and other items as assigned.
- Serves food, replenishes self service areas and responds to requests from customers.
- Follows guidance for accommodating food allergies.
- Ensures that all items are appropriately recorded in the POS system and accurate prices are charged.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student account information.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
- Communicates effectively with all employees.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
- Completes annual training as required by state and federal guidelines and school district.
- $15.95/hour plus benefits.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated, and the ability to perform the duties of the position.
