Monday-Tuesday: 10:00am- 6:30pm

Wednesday- Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm

Compensation: $21.00hr

Summary:

The Fleet Vehicle Detailer ensures that all interior and some exterior surfaces of buses and vehicles are sanitized using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety goggles and other protective equipment. This position may require some overtime, but overtime is not guaranteed.

Essential Functions:

· Thoroughly and systematically disinfect all interior and some external surfaces of buses and vehicles as directed by King County Metro guidelines.

· Follow instructions from safety documents and manufacturers safety data sheets.

· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles and other equipment as provided.

· Works in collaboration with the control center staff and Supervisors.

· Participates as a contributing member of the DART team with the common goal of safety.

· Attendance at monthly and quarterly staff meetings is mandatory.

· Communicates and interacts with individuals of various backgrounds and abilities; provides verbal and written reports

· Maintains punctuality and regular attendance to provide dependable service to the public; must be available to work the hours of the listed shift.

Required Qualifications:

  • Safety motivated, thorough and detail oriented; driven to provide a safety-focused work environment
  • Have reliable transportation to work to meet service critical attendance requirements
  • Ability to complete task logs
  • Have an acceptable work history and employment reference
  • Must be available to work a flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends.
  • This position is a Service Critical Employee with specific attendance requirements. More information is available in the Hopelink Adverse Weather Policy.

Ø Employee must report to work site during their scheduled hours, regardless of weather conditions or other emergencies.

Ø Manage own transportation needs in adverse weather, including possible limitations to public transportation options.

Ø Have a specific plan to address any other possible attendance barriers that arise during adverse weather and other emergencies, such as disrupted utilities or public services, road closures, school closures, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest or experience in vehicle maintenance or transportation

  • Lifting or pulling up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Work involves standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, sitting, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, grasping, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.

Licenses, certificates, other requirements:

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Proof of current personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Must pass criminal background check through the Washington State Patrol.
