Georgetown’s
Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC)
seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis – care for others.
Job Overview
The Financial Analyst oversees all financial management functions within the LCCC Cancer Comprehensive Center’s Breast Program, including but not limited to managing funds described as: Operating (1701), Operating Reserves (1702), Unrestricted Gifts (1703), Endowment (1801), Sponsored Research (1802). Knowledge and applicability of OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, and A-133 as appropriate to the extramural award process is a critical part of the daily management and analysis function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist faculty in the analysis, management, and reconciliation of all work tags and subcontracts
  • Serve as the administrative liaison with federal, state, and corporate sources of funding
  • Support annual budget preparation, modifications, and monthly variance reporting
  • Manage accruals and journals/cost transfers
  • Coordinate effort reporting and purchasing
  • Prepare and tracks invoices
  • Perform FFRs, close-outs and spend analysis
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Senior Business Manager for Lombardi Cancer Comprehensive Center, the X interacts with Associate Directors (Breast Cancer), Program Leaders, Chairs, faculty, staff and financial affairs (Office of Sponsored Research, Sponsored Accounting, Payroll, Budget, Purchasing and Contracts, and AP
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or an Accounting field Consideration will be given for a combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of experience - to include demonstration of progressive work experience
  • Strong finance, accounting, and analytical background
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a diverse population
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Ability to handle difficult situations - e.g., education in funding - with tact, diplomacy and discretion
  • Knowledge of federal regulations
  • Ability to interact well with community and University officials, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to express information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to assimilate data, communicate effectively, exercise sounds judgment and discretion, and understand comprehensive financial systems, including but not limited to GMS, Excel, BOX, and Word
  • Working knowledge of financial management tools and grants management
  • Demonstrated skill in administrative and financial management, in particular- working knowledge of Federal OMB Circulars A-21, A-110 and A-133 as well as extramural funding
