Financial Analyst Job at Delta Dental of Rhode Island
Position Summary:
Provides financial reporting, analysis and data in coordination with all internal departments. Supports all Finance and Accounting department related activities; monthly close, annual budget, audit requests, regulatory filings and investments.
Essential Duties:
- Generate and analyze daily and monthly dashboards for Senior management for multiple internal companies and departments.
- Support the Finance department with the monthly financial close by providing accurate, timely and relevant data.
- Coordinate with Data Analytics department to develop and maintain a Finance Department data Dashboard
- Primary support for all internal ad hoc financial analysis requests from Sr. Management.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget.
- Provide support and backup for the monthly investment package and the ongoing investment process
- Collect, compile, verify and analyze data for Quarterly and Year End regulatory filings.
- Enhance the monthly actual vs. budget variance reporting process.
- Prepare schedules and other documentation as requested by leadership and outside auditors.
- Recommend enhancements to current procedures to create ongoing efficiencies within the Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1-3+ years relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills. Able to work with large volumes of data and generate summarized results.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to thoroughly learn internal financial software and data systems
- Ability to collaborate with and be a financial data resource for all levels of the organization.

Attendance Requirements:
- 40-hour workweek (M-F) as assigned and additional hours as required.
