Our client needs a driven Finance Associate to help them grow their global energy, sustainability, and mobility business. The ideal candidate has established financial expertise in the fields of mobility, sustainability, and energy in both the US and Europe and will know corporate EV infrastructure, carbon control, and renewable energy sources. This position will offer crucial financial advising support to a developing team that is driving client solutions for rooftop solar, energy supply, and optimization of the electrification of logistics fleets, including last-mile deliveries and medium- to heavy-duty trucks. Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):
- Aid and oversee the acquisition of rooftop solar, storage, and other distributed energy assets.
- Own valuation procedures, such as financial modeling, structuring, and verification of underwriting assumptions for acquisitions and joint ventures including mobility, rooftop solar, and other distributed energy sources.
- Collaboration with the financial departments of the U.S. and the EU, as well as asset management, to ensure purchase alignment and efficient onboarding.
- Develop strong connections with important internal stakeholders within the company to create a strategy that makes use of the business’s core competencies, current distribution channels, and commercial linkages.
- Ensure that the necessary business systems are in place and develop the necessary core finance function processes to support the company's goal to become a data-driven organization.
Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor's degree.
- More than 3 years of direct support for the funding, acquisition, and/or development of distributed energy projects.
- To find market-leading financing structures and capital sources, one must be knowledgeable about energy project finance and capital markets.
- Capacity to comprehend, calculate, and communicate sophisticated financial analysis to counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of energy markets, laws, and dynamics.
- Practical knowledge of the EV tax credit program landscape and clean energy incentives and tax mechanisms, such as carbon credit mechanisms and renewable energy credits.
- Modeling and analysis of counterparty, credit, liquidity, interest rate, currency, and other risks as well as stress tests and hedging/mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of the real estate, supply chain, and logistics industries is an advantage
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
