Main Responsibilities / Activities
  • Responsible for the commissioning, installing, tuning, testing, and modification of all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery as well as the supervision of the installation for these systems. Coordinates and oversees the efforts of drafting staff and outside vendors to accomplish new designs and maintains project deadlines.
Special Projects / Challenges
· Involved in the commission of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Evaluates new systems requirements, defines system constants and variables, proposes design solutions, and creates design sketches of new hardware concepts and outlines control programs. · Manipulates machine language programming software systems proficiently. Evaluates new software packages for use in the department. Develops and implements procedures for review, validation and archiving of application software. · Analyses customer design proposal, specification, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Resolves issues affecting project scope, risk and quality and creates contingency plans for high-risk projects. Ensures materials and components used in new designs meet performance and safety requirements of industry standards. · Interacts with production personnel to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues and to provide technical assistance. Supervises the in-house start-up and debug process. Records any required design modifications. · Travels domestically and internationally for installation and/or troubleshooting of machinery. Flexibility to work required shifts for installation and/or troubleshooting of machinery. Provides effective and accurate communication with clients. · Ensures needs of the client are met while incorporating the best interest of the company. Provides training of G.D technicians and machine operators and technicians at client facility.
Basic Requirements
Hard (technical): 3 years’ experience in the design and optimization of PLC based control systems, AC variable frequency drives and sensors with exposure to high speed machinery. Experience with servo and stepper motor controls and multi-axis machines and programming operating interface devices. Soft (personal): Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, cross functional environment and to analyze and organize data to provide multiple solutions to technical problems. Education required: Technical training with industry experience. Associates in Electrical Engineering.
