Job Overview

A Field Application Engineer promotes the latest technologies within the automated material handling industry to industrial and distribution clients in a geographical region. They develop strong relationships through account management and provide customers tailored material handling and automation solutions to meet their business needs. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the industry including robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGV’s, conveyor systems, automated storage & retrieval systems, and more. This position offers a strong competitive base salary + uncapped commissions.

Job Functions

• Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely, regular visits
• Assess needs and present a wide variety of products and services tailored to customer specifications
• Collaborate with other Bastian Solutions entities to provide the best solution to the customer
• Master production information and business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.)
• Pursue leads and provide professional sales quotes in a timely manner
• Maintain customer database information current in our CRM
• Network with business contacts within the territory and industry
• Maintain current and future customer relationships through effective account management
• Assist or lead pre-sale development, design, and planning of projects
• Assist or lead post-sale implementation of solution when necessary

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, or MET/IET preferred)
• 2+ years of technical sales experience, automated material handling sector preferred
• AutoCad experience, material handling system design a plus
• Entrepreneurial and competitive personality; be an industry subject matter expert, study competition
• Strategic, big picture, customer-focused mindset
• Willing and transparent communicator
• Strong presentation skills
