Responsibilities
- Provides all physician care generally provided at an ambulatory care facility, on an outpatient basis. Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals. Arranges for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the corporation for patients of the clinic.
- Evaluates patients, based on medical training, to determine the medical condition of the patient through the performance of physical examinations, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan.
- Maintains high standards of medical practice and participates in the training development of the medical team. Assists in medical education of the clinic patients and clinic staff.
- Facilitates the patients transition within and between health care settings including referring and transferring patients for specialty care and provides follow-up care and discharges patients as necessary.
- Fulfills 40 hours of Continuing Education Credits within each twelve (12) month period. Attends professional conventions and seminars, participates in professional societies, and does all things reasonable, necessary and desirable to maintain and improve his/her professional skills
- Counsels patient regarding medical and other problems, which might affect the patient's health and well-being and documents each office procedure, prescription, consultation and patient contact in the patient's chart and on the clinic's encounter forms, within a 24-hour period.
- Performs such clinical procedures for the patient's benefit which are within the score and skill of practitioner and which are economically feasible.
- Prepares forms, letters, and examinations on behalf of the patients for claims of disability, workers compensation, injuries and illnesses, etc.
- Provides direction and leadership to the clinic's medical support staff, with regard to the administering of a patient's care.
- Performs other job-related duties, as may be assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine and Residency Program required.
- Licensed in the State of Wisconsin
- Board eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, required. Board certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a Family or Internal Medicine setting, preferred.
