Position Summary
Manage all aspects of local administration including financial operations, human resources, and other diverse issues. Provide leadership and management when coordinating these activities; collaborate with the administrative team in achieving the goals and objectives of the department/division/program and GW. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
- In conjunction with physician and administrative leadership, coordinates departmental human resource functions for staff including hiring, performance evaluation, counseling, payroll, terminations, promotions, wage/salary adjustments, disciplinary decisions and managing budgeted staff resources, and assisting in the development and implementation of programs which support retention of staff and teamwork. Liaises with central human resources principals as appropriate.
- Plans and conducts new provider onboarding.
- Ensures adherence to standards and policies for financial, operational, and patient care goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with revenue cycle on issues related to patient and physician experience.
- Ensures adherence to patient access standards and optimizes clinical resource utilization.
- Prioritizes workload demands, establishes productivity expectations, and identifies cross-functional coverage opportunities within and across areas as needed. This includes monitoring work queues, schedules, metrics and behaviors to ensure productivity expectations are met.
- Supports financial management activities including the development of annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor performance against the budget on a monthly basis, explaining variances and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Coordinates orientation and training for new hires; leads a multi-disciplinary team in providing a strong and consistent customer service orientation; maintains records on training activities.
- With department leadership, plans and supports activities that relate to future growth. Provides administrative leadership in developing business strategies and tactics to support the goals of the division/department/program, and the GWMFA overall strategic plans for market growth and development. This includes not only market growth and business development, but strategic planning for all aspects of management including human resources management, performance improvement, information technology, quality, value-based care, and revenue enhancement.
- Collaborates with physician leadership to market plan and promote patient services and programs both internally and externally.
- Works with administrative leadership to conduct data analysis and to deliver relevant monthly, ad hoc, and other periodic reports. Uses data in decision making and to make recommendations for problem resolution as appropriate.
- Assists staff, providers, and patients with resolution of problems at the team level whenever possible.
- Participates in meeting identified quality assurance objectives, and works to advance necessary programs to assure quality outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or another relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years of healthcare experience, with 2 or more years of management experience or equivalent relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proven leadership and organizational ability.
- Prior management experience in an academic hospital setting is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of EPIC EMR preferred.
