The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will be responsible for National Industrial Security Program (NISP) compliance at the West Caldwell, NJ facility. In addition to NISP compliance, the FSO will also function in an additional role as Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
Clearance requirement: All applicants applying to this role must have at least and active Secret DoD Security Clearance at time of application, IOT be considered for the onsite role in Caldwell, NJ

You are responsible for
- Processing clearance requests and re-investigations through Mercury’s Clearance Processing Center.
- Receive, transfer, control, ship and destroy all classified material for the facility.
- Provide employees with security awareness education as required by the NISPOM and Corporate.
- Maintain security related policies & procedures for the facility.
- Ensure NISP, corporate, and government compliance.
- Prepare summaries of security incidents, violations, suspicious contacts, and any other adverse information for reporting to Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).
- Work with Corporate ISSM to ensure compliance with Accredited Information Systems following RMF requirements.
- Respond to intrusion alarms as necessary.
- Be the direct liaison for the facility with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DSCA) and other government agencies.
- Maintain facility and personnel information in DISS, NISS and eMASS.
- Work with Corporate HR to in/out process employees

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Must have excellent oral and written communication and time management skills.
- Has the ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel.
- Have a solid understanding of industrial security and NISPOM requirements.
- Is familiar with working in a government contractor environment.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- FSO Certification preferred.
- ISSM experience preferred
- SIMS experience a plus.
- Onsite: Caldwell, NJ (5 days per week)
- Hybrid: This option is not available due to the nature of the positions duties & responsibilities
- Remote: This option is not available due to the nature of the positions duties & responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- FSO Certification
- ISSM Certification
- Minimum of 5 years prior AFSO/FSO and ISSM experience and excellent customer service skills.
- This position requires the applicant to hold and maintain an active Secret DoD Clearance.
- Will regularly work in a secure environment such as a Closed/Restricted Area.
- This position does require some overnight travel.
- Travel will be required for security reviews at other Mercury locations and training.
