Our Laboratory Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Engineer with hands on experience with facility and laboratory systems! Laboratory Nuclear Engineering is a multi-discipline team of engineers and technologists, working collaboratively to support preventive maintenance, emergent repairs, and new designs for radiological equipment, systems, and facility infrastructure as the Knolls Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY. As the selected candidate you will have the opportunity to engineer emergent repairs to aging laboratory systems and equipment, develop operating procedures to support laboratory analyses, perform hazard assessments and develop hazard mitigation strategies... and more! The selected candidate will be trained as an engineer of radiological work and provide subject matter expertise in regulated areas such as radiological controls. Job Requirements:
Advanced:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
- Currently or previously NPE qualified or CTE/ACRS and one year of EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
- Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and one year as SRE
Senior:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
- Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified or EDO and two years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
- Three years as SRE plus Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only), or SRE qualified and six years of experience
