The Art/Music/Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline.
• License/Certification: Must be certified in field of study.

Preferred:
Experience providing Therapy (Art/Music/Activity/Rec)
Experience in a psychiatric setting with children/adolescents.

Other Requirement:

• Skills: Working knowledge of recreational therapy programming. Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Physical Requirements: Extensive sitting, standing, walking, reading, lifting over (50 lbs.) pounds and participation in active physical recreational program.
• CPR and Handle With Care (both to be completed during orientation if needed).
