Events Assistant Job at New Freedom
Description:
The Events Assistant assists with the coordination and promotion of events both on and off-site. The Events Assistant is responsible for helping to prepare all equipment needed for events, activities, and/or classes during on and off-site events. The Events Assistant also provides support with requested tasks, assisting with guidance, teaching, and leading the members to build a foundation of healthy recreational habits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes setup and break-down of any/all equipment and ensures necessary supplies needed for events, activities, or classes, returning any/all supplies to storage once completed
- Engages and encourages member participation in on-site and off-site events, to aide in the prevention of self-isolation as well as to ensure a safe, healthy, and fun environment for members
- Assists other staff/departments with coordination of any/all events, as well as assists with providing safe transportation of members during outdoor recreation and/or events
- Engages in activities with members to show support, improve morale, and encourage teamwork and continuous engagement
- Assists members with developing social skills, building community, and forming healthy relationships in their recovery
- Manages general game logistics, such as scorekeeping, adherence to the rules, and accurate sign-in/out of events
- Assists with the oversight or submittal of notes into KIPU system describing activity during event, by correcting note formats and correctly transferring information from sign in sheets
- Reports any issues/challenges to Supervisor
- In addition, all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
- Effectively demonstrates versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Effectively collaborates and works within a team, while also effectively demonstrating the ability to take initiative and work well individually
- Intermediate computer skills – MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Internet, Electronic Health Record, etc.
- Physical training certification required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid AZ driver’s license may be required
- Successful clearance of annual MVR may be required
- Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background check
- Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Successful clearance of annual TB PPD testing
