Always Fishing Hospitality Group is looking for trusty, well-presented front-of-house staff to supplement our existing team. Contingent on their placement, front-of-house staff may be responsible for receiving guests, setting up event spaces not limited to chairs and tables, serving food, conveying special requests to kitchen staff, and event break down at the end of the evening. Event servers work in a variety of venues, which can range from a banquet hall to a park. To be a successful Event Server you should be outgoing, personable, and adept at stress management.
Event Server Duties and Responsibilities::
- Being punctual and professional, properly dressed in company specified uniform.
- Check-in with the onsite manager for task assignments (Clock in via Nowsta upon arrival)
- Unload company vehicles in an organized manner taking direction from Head Chef and or Service Manager
- Perform set-up duties including but not limited to setting tables, tables, bars, kitchen, polishing glasses, folding napkins, setting up buffets and /or food station
- Attend a pre-event meeting to review the menu, timelines, and dietary constraints of menu items
- Serve food and beverages as well as replenish buffet/food stations as needed throughout the event.
- Greet guests as needed.
- Buss plates, glassware, and other service items as necessary.
- Perform breakdown duties including but not limited to breakdown tables, bars, kitchen, clearing all glasses, dishes, and food, stack rentals together for pick up, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping as needed
- Load company vehicles at the conclusion of the event in an organized manner taking direction from Head Chef and or Service Manager
Event Server Qualifications
- 1+ years of work experience in an upmarket or high-volume restaurant or event catering.
- Must have knowledge of various styles of service
- Professional client-facing demeanor and appearance a must
- Wearing and maintaining the prescribed uniform.
- Excellent verbal communication and memorization skills.
- Great interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain composed, particularly during stressful or uncomfortable circumstances.
- Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Energetic, friendly, and social, event servers love working with people and enjoy interacting with guests
- Ability to focus attention on details. Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Willingness to perform additional duties to facilitate the event's success, as needed.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid California driver's license & clean driving record (a plus)
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting and placement of tables, chairs, trays, etc.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Hold an up to date Food Handlers Certificate
