Job description

OBJECTIVES: Under the guidance of the Head Housekeeper or other designated person, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Public Areas in accordance with the hotel. To be responsible for the maintenance, care and appearance of all public areas.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all guest toilets are clean and smell fresh

• Ensure pool and fitness are fully stocked with towels, toilet paper and toiletries

• Ensure all guest changing rooms are clean and smell fresh, lockers clean and closed

• Ensure that towel baskets are emptied regularly

• Ensure all floor mats are clean

• Ensure bins are empty.

• Ensure gym is hovered and window sills wiped, black mat mopped if needed.

• Ensure Studio is mopped and all mirrors are clean

• Dust and wipe walls, doors, and table tops, walls to be kept mark free, all doors to be washed down as necessary

• To follow and complete public area cleaning daily check lists.

• Familiarise with all the functions happening in the hotel.

• To act upon guest requests and special requirements where necessary.

• Any maintenance to be reported to head housekeeper or supervisor.

• Follow procedures for all waste disposal and recycling.

• Pass on any personal requests or preferences from guests to your supervisor.

• Undertake other duties, which may be allocated from time to time, as requested by your executive housekeeper or designated

• Support the F&B Public Area Cleaner on a daily basis as required.

• Assist fellow employees to perform similar or related jobs as and when necessary.

• Ensure guest satisfaction by performing such duties as attending to their requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently, and accepting changes or additions in work hours which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to hotel guests and patrons.

• Continuously endeavor to improve the knowledge of the job

• Arrive at work at the appropriate time correctly dressed in uniform.

• Ensure that the uniform is kept clean and in good repair.

• Ensure that all materials are used and stored correctly.

• Ensure that all hazards and potential hazards are reported immediately and rectified.

• Stimulate and encourage a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.

• Ensure that the highest standards of personal hygiene are maintained at all times.
