** This role is targeting experienced candidates who have a background in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.**
- There are technical components to this role – blueprint reading, understanding project scopes, etc.
- Review project documents and specifications to determine the scope and required content of estimates.
- Solicit material and subcontract pricing according to the needs of each project.
- Analyze and normalize quotes and enter pricing into estimating software.
- Manage and maintain files of working documents for estimate calculations including accurate information on prices from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Coordinate subcontracted work with estimating staff to ensure entire bid scope is properly accounted for.
- Instrumental in identifying risk items and developing plans to mitigate risk items.
- Identify Value Engineering concepts or other opportunities to gain a competitive advantage.
- Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.
- Formulate plans for meeting project diversity goals and implement plan on each bid pursuit.
- Work with subcontractor and vendor community to develop relationships and encourage participation.
- Represent the company, project and/or department during client and project management meetings.
- Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
- Assist in writing and reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders for newly acquired projects.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- An Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Industrial Management, or Civil Engineering is preferred as there is a technical aspect to this role – reading project scopes, blueprints.

- Prior experience in construction estimating or procurement roles involving heavy civil construction projects is preferred.
- Able to read and navigate engineering documentation and construction plans, or ability to learn this skill.
- Familiarity with construction and material specifications and standards, or ability to acquire this knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus ability to coordinate with estimating staff.
