Salary Range:

  • $45,000 - $65,000 per year

Roles & Accountabilities

  • Collaborating with executives to determine yearly Estimating goals and objectives
  • Ensuring Estimating goals are being met
  • Delighting our customers
  • Assisting with creating Estimating innovations
  • Assisting with quantifying Estimating innovations
  • Assisting with developing Estimating standard operating procedures
  • Continuously improving Estimating standard operating procedures
  • Developing, continuously improving and completing work in accordance with Company-wide and position-specific standard operating procedures

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Applied Science, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred

Desired Experience and Competencies (must have some of the following)

  • At least 100 MW of solar estimating experience required, with at least 50 MW of that experience being on project sizes > 2 MW
  • At least 5 years of solar PV estimating experience
  • National Electrical Code compliance and experience

Required Competencies

  • Focusing on estimating solar, energy storage, lighting and other projects as assigned
  • Setting up Project data rooms
  • Preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
  • Identifying labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
  • Computing costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements
  • Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Presenting prepared estimate by assembling and displaying Project estimate
  • Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information needs and trends
  • Maintaining an up to date cost database for equipment, materials, labor and subcontractors
  • Maintaining technical knowledge and proficiency by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
  • Working with Sales, Operation, Finance, Engineering and Field Operations Divisions in conducting thorough Project post-mortems, including making continuous improvement changes to Company and position-specific standard operating procedures to avoid issues identified in the Project post-mortem assessments
  • Collaborating and communicating extensively with with Sales, Administration, Finance, Engineering and Field Operations Divisions, as well as customers, architects and engineers
  • Traveling to Project sites to assess and analyze the Project site
  • Collaborating with Project Sales team to consider customer specifications, aesthetic desires and identified customer pain points
  • Collaborating with Engineering Division to consider Project engineering requirements, including state and local codes, industry standards, procurement, installation, budget, schedule and long term operation
  • Establishing Project design goals and objectives with Sales and Engineering Divisions
  • Pricing the Project to achieve Project goal and objectives, including a Project price that is within the Sales Division's budget objectives
  • Interfacing, supporting and collaborating with Engineering Division, including Estimating, Deliverable, Project Management and Procurement departments
  • Collaborating with Field Operations Division during the Project's installation
  • Collaborating with Service Division during the Project's operational lifetime
  • Maintaining knowledge and proficiency with Estimating tools
