You'll get to...

• Help restore the lives of the persecuted by teaching English, reading, and basic skills to refugee children so they can be successful in school in the United States.
• Leverage your skills to assist the team in various capacities, such as helping with intakes, data entry, conducting outreach, and providing overall team support.
• Provide parent orientation workshops to refugee parents to help them understand the public school system, so their children can be academically successful.
• Conduct tutoring classes and create a fun, positive, welcoming, and culturally sensitive learning environment.
• Plan effective lessons for refugee students, including both literate and pre-literate students.
• Conduct pre and post-testing of students.

Work Hours and Location:

Hours will be 40 hours per week, with benefits. Most work hours will be during the daytime M-F, including after-school hours. The office location will be the main campus located at 249 W. Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76115. Tutoring locations will be at multiple locations around Fort Worth, however, some may be virtual to address the needs of the clients.

Are you the newest Refugee School Impact Support Specialist?

• One year of experience minimum teaching ESL or a combination of education and experience is required.
• Familiarity with refugee populations and their needs is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required.
• Must have proficient computer skills.
• Must have reliable transportation, a current Texas driver's license, and evidence of auto liability insurance.
