Job Title: Fleet and Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fleet and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team and maintain our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for troubleshooting and repairing various types of vehicles, including trucks, vans, cars, and heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, and small earthmoving equipment. As a Fleet and Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and heavy equipment are in good condition and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair all types of vehicles and heavy equipment in the fleet, including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify mechanical problems.
• Ensure all vehicles and heavy equipment are serviced and repaired in accordance with established safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Work collaboratively with other mechanics, drivers, and supervisors to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure that all vehicles and heavy equipment are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.

Requirements:

• Formal training in automotive technology or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with a focus on hydraulics and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate all types of vehicles and heavy equipment in the fleet.
• Musser's Excavating is a non- smoking company

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
