Environmental Project Engineer

PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for an Environmental Project Engineer to join our Building & Construction team in our Orlando, FL office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

The Environmental Project Engineer will support the Building and Construction business by overseeing the Environmental projects in the Orlando Region.

The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

What you’ll do:

• Managing Environmental Site Assessments - Phase I, II, and III
• Managing FDEP projects
• Managing Soil and Groundwater Assessments
• Managing UST and LUST projects
• Managing soil gas and vapor intrusion investigations
• Ability to prepare technical proposal and reports
• Ability to communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule
• Ability to self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project
• Ability to manage and control project budgets and build solid relationship with clients

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering from an accredited/ABET school is required
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience is required
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration/certification required
• Must be able to perform tasks in varying field/office conditions
• Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline
• Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Ability to climb occasionally
