The Following Challenges Await You:

  • Serves as EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) representative on the management team for the site. Partner with the site team to champion Heraeus EHS principles and culture.
  • Ensures compliance with all EHS laws and regulations, EHS conditions of licenses, permits and/or authorizations, as well as other EHS requirements that apply to the Site.
  • Obtains new or revising existing EHS licenses, permits and/or authorizations.
  • Provides expert technical support in identifying and resolving EHS issues.
  • Conducts EHS-relevant communication to governmental authorities and to insurance companies as well as reporting of EHS KPI.
  • Analyzes and evaluates EHS performance across the site and develop strategic improvement plans and goals to integrate improvements into business operations.
  • Establishes, implements, maintains, and continually improves an EHS Management System in line with Heraeus EHS Development Path as well as ISO 14001.
  • Develops internal audit plans and support auditing, assessments, walks and similar.
  • Develops, reviews and follows-up/ tracks on action plans for identified EHS issues as required to ensure that tasks are being completed on schedule.
  • Develops, implements and regularly updates EHS risk assessments.
  • Oversees the site industrial hygiene programs including occupational monitoring.
  • Maintains the site EHS training plan. Supports development, implementation and regular updates of EHS trainings that require EHS expert knowledge.
  • Supports injury and illness case management process and maintains relevant logs and documentation in coordination with Human Resources (HR).
  • Networks with other Heraeus EHS professionals and professional associations as well as businesses, sites, and other functions on tools and approaches for EHS compliance and be effective in shaping policy, best practices and standards for the site.
  • Provides supervisory guidance and development to all EHS resources to ensure technical/functional and operating skills are current and effective.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in a basic science or technical degree in the field of EHS management, or relevant work experience in EHS is required.
  • At least 8-10 years of site operations related experience is required for this position, preferably within a chemical manufacturing faciity.
  • Experience and working knowledge of EHS regulations is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, people management and development skills in an industrial environment.

  • Preferred candidate would be credentialed as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines as well as manage change and work independently.
  • Networking, influence, and conflict resolution skills with strong focus on deliverables with excellent oral and written skills along with the ability to apply these in the regulatory, advocacy and public affairs culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software (systems used are Microsoft Office, Intelex, intra/internet, etc.) including helping to implement the Intelex software system at the site.
  • Ability to Travel <10% (training, network meetings, participation in assessments).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
