We are currently seeking an Environmental Dispatcher to join our team in Seattle, WA. The Environmental Dispatcher, located over at the Enviro office, is responsible for operations support on a 24-hour-a-day basis on Saturdays and Sundays which includes receiving and responding to environmental calls, scheduling and dispatching Environmental crews in the PNW region, and maintaining client relations.

The work schedule is a rotating three days, 12 hours shift with on-call duties and four days, 12 hours shift with on-call duties. The schedule requires work on Saturdays and Sundays, in addition to after hours work for on-call response situations and crewing needs. The position will be a hybrid work schedule, with a requirement of 2 or 3 days working in the office each week (on weekdays only) and the rest of the work being done remotely. If working 4 days schedule, 3 days (on weekdays only) would be worked in the office (8 hours in the office, the rest of the 12 hour shift from home). If working 3 days schedule, 2 days (on weekdays only) would be worked in the office (8 hours in the office, the rest of the 12 hour shift from home)


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assign work schedules to environmental employees during scheduled work days which include Saturdays and Sundays
  • Track preventative booming services jobs
  • Adjust crewing as necessary to accommodate customer schedule changes
  • Receive and respond to all daily Maritime emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Provide after hours on-call response during scheduled work days
  • Identify nature of calls, evaluate/prioritize incoming projects and follow through to completion for preventative booming services
  • Ensure that customer’s needs are met and they are satisfied with the level of service; communicate any discrepancies
  • Communicate regularly with Environmental Operation Manager & Environmental Operations Foreman regarding scheduling conflicts, staffing concerns, operational questions, etc
  • Create, enter and maintain up to date job files until completion of job; including daily logs, tailgate safety sheets, purchase orders
  • Audit daily logs, tailgate safety sheets, and time cards for accuracy, completion, and appropriate signatures
  • Maintain timecards in accordance with information from the dailies submitted, and project pay scale
  • Acquire materials and supplies as needed; including obtaining purchase orders for field crews
  • Help Environmental Operational Foreman and Enviro Ops Manager with sales call order fulfillment
  • Keep informed and continue enforcement of the company’s safety programs and procedures
  • Assist Enviro Ops Manager & Enviro Supervisor in calling people for emergency response.
  • Answering after hour call from our Global after hour call center.
  • Schedule crew for on call regarding to WSMC and TransMontaigne contracts.
  • Ensuring Enviro personnel certs are current.
  • Other duties as assigned


Work Location: Hybrid - Seattle, WA (2-3 days onsite per week)

Qualifications:

Education
  • High school degree required
  • Some college or Associate degree preferred

Experience
  • 2 years experience in marine or construction industry preferred
  • 3 years supervisory or scheduling experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills
  • Ability to read maps to determine locations and job sites
  • Must possess strong coordinating skills
  • Must have a valid driver license and acceptable driving record
  • Must meet HAZMAT physical requirements
  • Must demonstrate professional and respectful demeanor when working with all levels of associates
  • Ability to think clearly and act quickly in emergencies
  • Must possess positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must show ability to work independently and to successfully demonstrate understanding of our environmental business and ability to meet our clients’ needs
  • Ability to develop quality reports for management
  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must have a strong maritime background with a thorough understanding of the day to day operations
  • Ability to tactfully interact with a wide range of personalities
  • Ability to organize workload and prioritize projects in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work under pressure

Physical / Mental Requirements
  • Ability to work any day of the week both night and day
  • Available for after hour emergency response
  • Available to travel as needed (estimated to be less than 5%)
