Environmental Compliance Specialist Job at Global Partners LP
The Environmental Compliance Specialist will be a critical part of the Environmental Operations team, reporting to the Environmental Manager. In this role you will be responsible for managing the daily aspects of the company’s UST compliance and training program, UST inspection program, and UST permitting.

“Gauges” of Responsibility
- Provide environmental compliance/emergency response training to our retail petroleum (gas stations) employees from Maine to Virginia.
- Be familiar with UST system regulations (EPA, state DEP/DEQ/DES/DEM, federal and state fire codes, etc.) for the New England and East Coast states.
- Ability to obtain a Class A/B UST Operator certificate in the states where we operate.
- Assist Class B inspectors and TMs to resolve compliance issues identified during weekly/monthly inspections.
- Work with the maintenance department to ensure compliance/safety requirements are being met at facilities.
- Communicate frequently with the environmental inspection field staff regarding compliance deficiencies.
- Manage all aspects of the Company’s permit compliance including working with stores, regulatory inspectors and TMs to ensure proper paperwork is available.
- Work with Company’s third party compliance vendor to ensure fuel related permits/licenses/registrations are updated and renewed as required.
- Assist with NON/NOV resolution (as needed).
- Manage the cooking oil/grease recycling program.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Other compliance management duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel locally 35% of the time; Ability to travel overnight/multiple nights 15% of the time.

Qualifications
- Background in Environmental Health and Safety
- 3-5 years’ experience
- Experience in training and teaching
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail petroleum setting
Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent knowledge preferred
