LKB is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm, based in Syosset, NY, that provides services to municipal and private clients in the tri-state region since 1889. The firm provides comprehensive services in civil, structural, traffic, landscape architecture, environmental, mechanical, and electrical engineering as well as construction services on projects involving transportation infrastructure, structures, utilities, electric power distribution, site development, general public works, and construction inspection and administration.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks associated with transportation and site design projects in the NYC and Long Island areas. The position will be based out of the LKB Syosset Office.

Responsibilities

• Potential work tasks may include assisting with and developing the following:
• Roadway/Highway alignment design
• Drainage analysis and calculations including hydrological/hydraulic modeling
• Design of parking lot layouts and site grading
• Assembling reports and final construction plans
• Collecting and compiling data
• Design of roadway pavement markings, signage, and WZTC layout
• Coordination of utilities and other roadways/site elements
• Project team coordination and review of technical reports and design plan

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• Prior professional civil engineering experience preferred, not required
• EIT certification preferred, not required
• Working knowledge of computer modeling programs such as WMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM and experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, and InRoads is preferred
• Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

The expected hiring range for this role is $65,000 to $70,000 depending on the candidates level of experience.
