printed recyclable materials up to 16 ft. wide. Our prepress department processes more than 50,000 files per day with the aid of proprietary software automation tools. We operate around-the-clock, 7 days a week to deliver extraordinary customer service, and print over 400 million square feet of material annually. We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician II to join our team. Requirements for the Engineering Technician II position include the ability to build, test, and debug most equipment and machinery. Must have a complete understanding of mechanical and electrical components used in machinery. Ability to apply knowledge to troubleshoot, build, and modify equipment as directed to support manufacturing and engineering operations such as printing, material handling, product assembly, converting, coating, lamination, cutting, web handling, and process automation. Must be able to follow Project Management fundamentals to ensure tasks are completed in line with the overall project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
R&D Activities: 50% of position responsibility
- Perform basic machine and equipment assembly to achieve desired results with little to no supervision.
- Work with R&D Engineers to build and modify custom/purchased equipment.
- Lead the testing and assembly of equipment under the guidance of the R&D Engineering staff.
Project Management 25% of position responsibility
- Follow and maintain established project schedules and tasks.
- Maintain open and timely communication with Project Managers and stakeholders on assigned tasks.
- Aid in the completion of Project Management documentation.
Process Development & Improvement: 20% of position responsibility
- Lead the development of manufacturing processes and equipment parameters under the guidance of an R&D Engineer.
- Work with the R&D Engineering staff to operate process related equipment to optimize workflow, material handling, and First Time Through success rate.
- Lead experiments to establish equipment and process parameters under the guidance of R&D Engineering Staff.
Production Support: 5% position responsibility
- Lead the training of Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and Operators on proper equipment operation, maintenance, and setup.
- Provide troubleshooting support when equipment or process malfunctions occur and cannot be resolved by the operations support staff.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in related manufacturing field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Have a full understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Pneumatic components and systems.
- Identify components, understand what they do, and safely replace them with new components.
- Understand and demonstrate safe use of all hand and power tools required to perform job functions: Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Power Drills, DMM’s, Mills, Drill Presses, Band Saws, etc.
Hiring Range: $22.00 - $25.70 hourly DOE.
