What you’ll be able to do:

We’re seeking a highly skilled technical professional to provide key expertise to our exceptional automated manufacturing capabilities. You will utilize Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation, as well as review and follow up on automation projects and installations. You will:

  • Use FIS Plant monitoring software to review faults and cycle times of automation, review and follow up automation project's and installations and provide maintenance metrics
  • Use QLS Plant Quality software to review quality concerns and assist with cut-offs and resolutions
  • Troubleshoot PLC issues, Robot Application issues and other critical imputes to the Sealing and Painting Process
  • Review prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics
  • Update program backups for automation
  • Program new installations for Body Shop, Paint Automation and conveyor systems
  • Reprogram automation for engineering changes, thru put and quality improvements
  • Coordinate automation repairs and use Maximo to generate CWO and 4D’s accordingly
  • Understand/monitor and adjust spray booth conditions to ensure Quality Targets are achieved
  • Coordinate and plan maintenance actions. Preventive, Planned and Crisis Maintenance.
  • Ensure all safety standards are met during maintenance activities.
  • Oversee optimization of current production processes
  • Coach plants in continuous improvement, standardization, and lean concepts
  • Assist plants in addressing equipment down time issues
  • Develop preventative / predictive maintenance practices to ensure 100% equipment uptime
  • Train and educate plant personnel and leadership
  • Provide input on new equipment design and purchase
  • Support new model / equipment launch as required
  • Assist in quality related actions that imply machine reliability improvements.
  • Be point of contact to Plant Engineering, local vendors and commodity suppliers regarding equipment issues
  • Issue regular reports on maintenance metrics
  • Support and coach problem solving activities within the department, mainly focused on Reliability and Maintainability
  • Coordinate Maintenance Planning and Shutdown Planning actions within the department
  • Support Work Group and Department meetings regarding equipment improvement and JPH actions
  • Participate actively in JPH Roadmap reviews
  • Provide technical assistance to personnel and areas where necessary.
  • Identify training needs for skilled employees, coordinate training plan for the department
  • Work with FIS, AVS and any other manufacturing type systems
  • Coordinate skilled personnel during breakdowns to fix the issue with the minimal disturbance on production. Ensure resources are planned during the line breaks.
  • Actively participate in Simultaneous Engineering meetings, Forward Planning and Product Design to ensure Maintainability standards are followed
  • Work in a rotating shift environment including nights, weekends and overtime

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience with PLC logic and controls programs

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Controls or Automation Engineering
  • Fanuc and/or Kawasaki Robot Programming/Application experience
  • Solid understanding of PLC programming
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A history of working successfully with skilled trades
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Body Shop and/or Paint experience
  • 1+ years Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience reviewing prints, using AutoCAD, and interpreting and modifying electrical schematics
  • Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
