We are seeking an
Engineering P
roject Manager to manage the RF Compatibility Test Lab (CTL) supporting our NASA customer based at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. The position may allow for occasional telework, but will primarily require on site work at GSFC.
As prime contractor on the Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA’s worldwide satellite communication networks. In this position, you will become part of NASA’s return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.

As the CTL Engineering Manager, you will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of mission requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Project Management:- Financial Management
- Technical compliance
- Schedule creation and tracking
- Actively managing a team of test engineers
- Systems Engineering
- Requirements development and management
- System design
- Integration
- Hardware and software testing
- Integration of new hardware and software systems, including:
- Customer support
- Presentations
- Risk analysis
- Review test plans, test procedures, and test reports
- Review engineering work products
- Management of maintenance and operation of CTL equipment
- Management of testing efforts (in accordance with test plans) with the Space Relay (SR) and Direct To Earth Network (DTE) to confirm RF compatibility of user spacecraft and the supporting ground network interfaces in accordance with test requirements and procedures
- Development and presentation of test reports.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or other related technical discipline and 10+ years’ related professional experience, or a MS degree and 8+ years of experience
- 4+ years of supervisory and management experience
- Prior experience with large US Government contracts
- RF communications engineering experience
- Familiarity with S-band and Ka-band frequency applications
- Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio and MS Word
- This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience and knowledge of NASA’s Space Relay (SR) and Direct To Earth Network (DTE) and associated communication systems- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in groups
- Experience with problem solving, multi-tasking, and attention to details
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer relationships
- An active Secret clearance

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $72,500 Salary Mid: $145,000 Salary Maximum: $181,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
