Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking an Operations Engineer Technician I to support its Engineering – Configuration and Concessions department. Selected applicant will be responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, sales, construction, inspection, and maintenance. Assists engineers, inspects products, conducts tests, and collects data.

This position may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.
  • Disposition shop routers while ensuring the correct processes are utilized under the guidance of the governing overhaul manual and customer requirements.
  • Maintain the engineering Bill of Materials while ensuring traceability of parts and materials.
  • Keep abreast of the latest changes, i.e. AD’s, Service Bulletins, and company programs that may affect the job assignment.
  • Interface with various departments to ensure the timely flow of parts.
  • Compile and review all necessary information to complete a cost advice to determine feasibility of repair of selected components.
  • Assemble/review work packages for submission to Quality Control at the completion of the overhaul cycle.
  • Verify incoming purchase orders are complete.
  • Organize and maintain the non-repairable parts (NRP) area.
  • Submit required documents/information to all appropriate departments.
  • Interface with Receiving, Assembly, and Production Control to ensure the timely issuance of necessary documents.
  • Provide job assignments based on the production schedule to ensure the timely flow of parts through the department.
  • Dictate and maintain agency requirements of life limited / tracked components as they travel through the shop.
  • Dictate and maintain work order configuration requirements and ensure the appropriate shop routers and Bill of Materials are issued, as required. Generate and forward Bills of Material and shop routers to the appropriate areas.
  • Coordinate technical issues with the OEM, DER, customer, and suppliers.
  • Create and implement routers and Bills of Material.
  • Support company goals through continuous improvements in a visible and positive manner, which increases productivity and reduces costs.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Performs other duties as required by business needs.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Five (5) years related experience.
Preferred: Landing Gear and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Superior presentation and negotiation skills. Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and ability to multitask tasks from multiple administrators. SAP Knowledge.

This position may require use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), or both. U.S. Person preferred.
