Summary
The Analytics Engineer supports the administration and application of analytical data and reporting for the organization to provide actionable information. By combining technical skills, data management, and business knowledge, the role transforms, maintains, and models data and develops processes to support both business and analytical functions.
Essential Functions
- Supports and leverages data platform tools through knowledge of analytical tools (e.g., Informatica, Snowflake, Power BI), understanding of security components and practices, and general database and developer knowledge (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Python, SSIS, shell script, .NET, APIs).
- Assists with system optimization and problem resolution of data platform tools.
- Assists with the development of data platform tool best practices for system use, change tracking, testing, and source control.
- Performs data integration, preparation, and process development activities.
- Develops data sets and processes to support analytical needs.
- Develops and maintains data warehouse and related processes.
- Develops integrations to support analytics and execution to downstream systems and processes.
- Consults and assists in translating business needs into technical requirements, including studying information needs, conferring with users, understanding systems flow and data usage, work processes, and problem areas.
- Supports organizational data governance by assisting with data governance documentation and catalog.
- Contributes to and maintains organization’s overall data model and architectures.
- Supports the universal application of data-related business rules.
- Maintains accuracy, integrity, and consistency in all data activities.
- Adheres to organizational security policies, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security, and understands how to handle data responsibly and with caution.

Education
Education
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Required.
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience required.
- Two plus (2+) years of experience in business intelligence/analytics/data warehousing/big data tools required.
- Previous experience in the financial industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation skills and abilities.
- Business acumen and project management skills preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant security components and practices.
- Working knowledge of common analytical tools (e.g., Informatica, Snowflake, Power BI).
- General database and developer knowledge (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Python, SSIS, shell script, .NET, APIs).
- Knowledge of database management systems and ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) framework.
- Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Knowledge of coding languages preferred (e.g., R, Python).
