Engineer Job at Napco Precast Llc
SUMMARY
Will be an integral part of our design team working with drafting, QC, and project management to produce, check, and oversee construction/fabrication calculations and documents for a variety of building types.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design precast/prestressed products and associated connections, perform load (gravity and lateral) analysis, and design repairs
- Independently manage engineering design aspects of a project with minimal assistance or guidance
- Check engineering design calculations, engineered drawings/details, and production drawings of others for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company standards
- Resolve engineering design issues independently and provide assistance to drafting/QC/production teams
- Attend project meetings; may lead coordination meetings
- Ability to lead a design team and adhere to production and erection schedules
- 85% Project Specific Duties / 15% Committee work, standards upkeep/development, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience using AutoCAD, Mathcad, and basic engineering software
- Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational and time management skill with ability to prioritize assignments
- Analytical thinker with above average problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Civil Engineering required from ABET accredited degree plan (Masters with structural emphasis preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience with concrete design
