The Energy Advisor is an individual contributor who serves as a single point of contact for assessing customers’ energy needs and requirements, analyzing and developing solutions, and providing value-added energy solutions to meet these needs. This position is responsible for providing technical energy advice and effective customer account and project management.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses to determine how this job is performed. This position requires four to six years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.

Possesses in depth energy knowledge, particularly in the areas of natural gas, alternative energy, utilities, building technology, etc.; working knowledge of consumer behavior and project management practices and applications; understands consultative sales and customers’ decision-making processes; possesses strong business acumen; thorough knowledge of the building community, energy customers and market segments; well-developed communication skills.

• Raise the profile of Southwest Gas in different business environments
• C ontribute to the eco n omic deve l opment of the applic a bl e servi ce territory by leveragi n g presen c e w ith trade a s sociation s , chambers of comm e rce and e c onomic d e v elopment authorities
• U nderstand the busin e ss of the c u stome r a nd provide a dvice and recommend solutions to meet t h e e nergy ne e d s of the c ustomer b y providing consultat i v e services incl u din g strategic p l anning a n d a n aly s is
• Provide te c h nical adv i c e and coor dinat e in ternal and e xternal re s ources to m eet cust o mer ener g y n e eds
• Provide pro j ect manag e ment ove r sight relat e d to the in s tallation of natural gas facilities
• U nderstand and inform custom e rs of the impact of ch a nges in t a r iffs and r e gulations a s related t o c ustomer c o ntracts
• Communicate key energy and customer issues to staff and management; provide market intelligence including competitive opportunities and threats, trends and customer issues
• Promote energy conservation awareness and implement energy conservation initiatives
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

SALARY DETAILS

$74,612 - $111,916
