About The Job
As an Employee Relations Partner, you will uphold the values of Maersk with integrity and care. You will conduct thorough investigations into alleged violations of human resources policies, Maersk Core Values, and federal and state employment laws. You will coordinate with legal counsel to prepare timely and comprehensive written reports summarizing your investigations and recommending remedial action, if necessary. You will also review and generally advise on workplace concerns to ensure fair treatment of all colleagues.

This position can be based in NC, NJ or CA.
Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
-
5-8 years of experience in employee relations/investigations in a human resources business partner role or employee relations advisory role

Experience with employment law principles, conducting/advising on investigations, and producing written reports summarizing complex human resource investigations.
Skills and abilities:

Exceptionally strong written communications skills and ability to produce written work product with minimal oversight.

Project management ability, to include coordinating investigations across multiple business units and functions, with varied stakeholders.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices and time management skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to manage legal risk

Ability to develop trusted partnerships and create/maintain professional relationships with all levels of the organization within the People Function and other stakeholders

Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to conduct sensitive investigations and remain impartial during investigations, while getting meaningful answers during interviews/investigations

Experience presenting trainings, workshops, and other programs
Responsibilities

Oversee daily administration, management, and investigation of reported concerns/cases within Ethics Point Whistleblower system

Provide support and partnership to the North America People Partner team on complex employee relations issues

Partner with People Partners, HR Business Partners and Legal to ensure that disciplinary processes are handled in a fair manner and are consistent with legal requirements.

Conduct and participate in all phases of local HR investigations, developing investigation plans, conducting fair, unbiased, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures and federal/state regulations.

Ensure that investigations are thorough and include an understanding of the allegations, appropriate interviews, analysis and documentation, and recommendations for conclusions and course of action.

Provide training and guidance to People Partners and Leaders regarding employee relations issues, investigations, managing performance, and localizing existing training materials where applicable.

Lead regional compliance initiatives and investigations and serve as a focal point for all questions related to managing employee grievances, harassment and conduct as escalated through the company's Ethics hotline.

Maintain compliance with local and regional regulations concerning employment and provide support to the country specific HR team and leadership

Creating quarterly reporting dashboards to share back with People Partners, HR Business Partners, and Legal highlighting trends and concerns and take proactive approach to prevent issues from reoccurring

Work closely with both regional and global Legal, Compliance & Ethics team

Performs other duties as assigned

Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within region

Travel as needed to company sites within supported region
